What are you involved in?

In addition to KASA, I am a member of NYLN, (National Youth Leadership Network.)I am the note taker of the NYLN Advocacy Committee calls.
I am the vice president of Northbrook Senior High School Speech and Debate team.
I am also the assistant youth coordinator for our youth department at church.

What is your disability?

I am visually impaired because of glaucoma.
This is a genetic condition that has affected all the males in my family.
As a result, I currently have some object perception and can recognize a few colors.
I read Braille and use several pieces of technology to maintain academic performance.

Why are you involved in KASA?

I wanted to join KASA because I have learned how important advocacy skills are for a disabled individual.
I hope this experience will strengthen my advocacy skills.
I also hope that this will enable me to share the importance of advocacy skills with others.
