Gelato is native to California where it was produced by Cookie Fam Genetics, which produces delicious weed strains which are sweet to smell and taste. Gelato is a cross between Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies pot, and Sunset Sherbet weed. It has balanced Indica and Sativa properties, making it a good medical strain.
Appearance and Smell
The Gelato plants are short and stocky. The buds are darkish purple with orange pistils and frosty, icing-like trichomes and resins. These buds produce a bounty of flavors including sweet, mint, cookie, orange, berry, oak, and lavender.

OMG I love Gelato so much!! Hits you within a minute and then BANG! I have never experienced self-esteem elevation from any pot and this was so unexpected and so good. This is my first vote and I think I'm gonna also write some info 'bout it. The buds are danse and kind of frosty with masses of purple hairs in it. Smell and taste are obviously characterise the name of the strain. It's a successful unique cross giving you a nice body cerebral and euphoric head high along with an uplifting creativity. Good strain for working as you feel calm and relaxed but still ready to wake and bake. I'm gonna use it for outdoor activities, maybe cooking and definitely contemplating on different kinds of things. 5/5
A heavy one. One bowl was enough for me to enjoy its effects and it was absolutely amazing. The main thing you feel is an anxiety relief and a 100% mood elevation. It helps even with depression and mood disorders and I mean it. Subsequently when you stop concentrating on all those bad things in your mind you can finally relax floating peacefully. I'm not so angry at the world and myself anymore so I became more likeable person and more caring friend which was alien to me before. But you're not acting like a lifeless veg or something, it's actually makes you feel more like having some work done and doing chores. And everything gives you more satisfaction then ever, for example having a shower feels completely different and drastically nicer. Then I had so much fun and giggles hanging out with my husband! And after all there was no this foggy headed feeling like when you're drunk. It doesn't make you sleepy as well, only if you give into it. I'm so happy my relationships with my family became better and my life easier. Such a head high and long term mood improvement must not be ignored, there is no more weed like this.
I love this strain as it has every effect that I expect to experience when smoking weed. At first, it's so smooth to smoke my throat is happy:) The body high is awesome, relaxes all the muscles like after the massage. You can feel the buzz and then an unexpected relief of all pain. The anxiety ran away in terror as well and my mood boosted dramatically but I'm not sure whether you’ll feel the same, maybe it's just me. It's also especially good for calming down your frazzled nerves after a hard day or some event. Next time I would like to smoke some on a rainy day and snuggle with my girlfriend. But if you need to complete some tasks, good for you! As it makes you productive and creative while remaining concentrated. The question is what you want to focus on. An important thing to know, this strain is really powerful but comes on really slowly at first and lots of people try to smoke it carefully and still get stoned to the bone. It's just so smooth you can't even control how much to inhale. So it's better to stay home and have no set plans for the day. Six stars out of five.
Tried this for the first time today. Great head feeling accompanied by a body buzz that's unique to me. My arthritis pain disappeared (I'm 60 years old) along with spinal pain. My neck pain that's been 24/7 for over 6 months now has diminished by 90% for the first time. Only have tried 6 different medical strains so far. I give this a "Thank You"...!!!!!

This is just what the doctor ordered! Mellow mood and deep thought inspiring strain. It isnt going to motivate you to move, nor will you become a couch potato. Quick high on two tokes and long lasting effects (up to three hours). Nerce and muscle pain disappeared! Tastes good. No stinky weed smell in the house after burning it. Put thus one on my list of favorites!
My first experience with Gelato was not disappointing. My head felt light, my body felt relaxed, and I was really enjoying that incredible taste of a hazelnut with pine. I’ve smoked a lot of weed due to my medical condition but this one is definitely the perfect hybrid for me. It even prompted me to write the first gelato review, which is also my very first online review. Wish I had more of this strain in my area.
Gelato made me think about my life a lot (but maybe it’s just me). Frankly speaking, my goal was to get rid of that lower back pain I had after cutting grass in my backyard, and this strain did that. Also, it helped me to relax and enjoy the evening. Generally, I drink a glass of wine and watch a great movie to relax, but now Gelato weed is definitely a good alternative that allows me to fall asleep peacefully.
I liked that this weed is relaxing but won’t lock you on your couch. I prefer to be able to move when I smoke pot, so this one is great for me. As for the medical effects, I can say that the assistant at the dispensary was right: it does a great job at battling symptoms of mental health conditions, such as anxiety. Moreover, it tastes fruity and sweet, which I also enjoy.
To be completely honest, I chose to try Gelato strain because the buds looked very cool. Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint me at all because I had a perfect high after just two hits (and I have a high tolerance). The high was great and long-lasting, so don’t plan anything important to do after smoking. Even though this pot won’t increase your productivity level like a sativa (but I should probably say that it comes pretty close), but it’s very calming and euphoric.
Can I give it ten stars?? Absolutely fantastic high that improved my focus and helped me with depression. I tend to be a little bit anxious all the time, so I was looking for a pot with great relaxation and mood improvement effects. My friend who is kind of an expert on marijuana said: “if you want a delicious hybrid, buy Gelato strain.” He was right, it’s the tastiest marijuana you can possibly find out there, and you can grow it in just 8 weeks.
When I first tried this stuff, I was amazed. It reminded me a bit of OG Kush a little bit because it packed a sudden and a strong punch within a minute. Also, I liked that the relaxing effects did not dramatically limit my energy because I’m a big fan of painting, or otherwise creating while stoned. I can confidently say Gelato cannabis is a good all-rounder that will relax you, take your mind off bad things, and inspire to do something fun.
