Origins, Genetics, History
Jet Fuel Type: Jet Fuel is a balanced, 30 / 70, Indica / Sativa hybrid of the following strains:
- Aspen OG
- High Country Diesel
Jet Fuel is a strain that was bred by 303 Seeds. 303 produces strains like Rocket Fuel and Ambulance, high powered Sativas and highly sought after seeds. This is a company out of Colorado, a state that has taken the lead in cannabis legalization and development. These seeds are not sold to the general public so good luck getting them. But you can get Jet Fuel weed from licensed dispensaries.
Also, in the lineage of Jet Fuel cannabis are the Ocean Grown strains like SFV OG Kush. Therefore, you have both OG and Kush genetics. That’s California and the Hindu Kush valley. This creates a strong and hearty marijuana plant. Then we got that diesel fumes coming from a grandparent, East Coast Sour Diesel.
Appearance and Smell
Your Jet Fuel marijuana plant will grow beyond 6 ft tall. It is of a medium to tall stature. Outdoors, it can grow beyond 9 feet, due to having more space and a higher goal to reach the sunlight. The medium green leaves tinged with orange and brown are light and snapable. The hairy pistils create a psychedelic orange tinged with reddish and purplish highlights.
Jet Fuel has a complex fragrance. The name itself gives a clue. The Nuggets have a chemical, gasoline smell that hits the brain instantly producing an immediate stimulation. This is not a result of improper handling. These are stimulating chemicals produced directly by nature, for the protection of the plant and the stimulation of the mind. You will inhale hints of pine, earthy Kushness, and skunky funk. You will be impressed by both the appearance and flavor of this carefully bred strain.
How to Grow Jet Fuel Cannabis Seeds or Cuttings
Growing weed from Jet Fuel cannabis seeds or cuttings requires extensive experience. This is because it is still an industry secret, guarded only by licensed growers who partner with 303 seeds. So, you won’t find all the growth information for this strain, but you can deduce its needs by carefully watching your plants and by considering its lineage of Kush, diesel, and OG. This means it is a strong plant. So, once you know how to grow those strains, then the actual effort to grow this plant is of a medium level. This is because it has strong genetics. Though it has been crossed by many impressive strains, it is still a Kush and an OG, so it could potentially grow as a wild weed. Your plants can grow very tall. Indoors, you will only have space to grow the plants up to six feet. You can grow in a grow tent. Put reflective lining in the tent to keep the light from your high discharge lamps focused on those hungry leaves. Give your plants space to grow as tall as you can grow them indoors. You can use 5-gallon flower pots and fill them with organic soil and fertilizer. Use pots with overflow holes to avoid overwatering. Use an exhaust system with a fan to keep the air moving. Check your humidity levels often and keep your air crisp and dry to avoid the growth of molds, mildews, and bacteria. Your plants will flower in around 70 days and be ready for harvesting, drying, curing, and storage. You can store in common mason jars with a black tinge to keep out the light, or in a more complicated device like a Cannador. Dried nuggets can be locked away in high tech cans called CVaults which keep a constant humidity. You can expect to get a yield of about 14 ounces for every square meter of space that you use to grow your plants in.
If you’re growing your plants outside, you know that you want to mimic the environment of the Ocean Grown (OG) series. These originated near the California coast, hence the term ocean grown. Obviously, they were not grown in the ocean or watered with ocean water, because saltwater and salty sand will kill your plants. But it was grown in the sunny California sun (translation: Caliente = sunny; California sun = Sunny Land sun, kind of redundant), in the near-perfect temperatures and crisp air. Your plants will blossom in the month of October in the United States and be ready for harvesting. Hang them up to dry and store. You are ready to snatch down the yield of 14 ounces of potent pot for each and every plant that you grow. This is a good yield for a connoisseur strain not readily available to lay-growers.
Medicinal Marijuana Review / Focus on Glaucoma
Jet Fuel is a 70 percent Sativa and 30 percent Indica with up to 19 percent THC. It has been known since the 1970s that marijuana can improve the quality of life of those suffering from glaucoma. Researchers are quick to point out that it is not more effective than conventional medications but can be as effective, helpful, and at the very least, not harmful. It can also treat pain associated with glaucoma.
Glaucoma is a medical condition that results from increased pressure in the eye. Treatments for glaucoma generally aim at decreasing the pressure created by excess aqueous humor in the eye. This is the fluid that fills the major portion of the eye. In glaucoma, this fluid has trouble draining and moving as it should. This leads to increased pressure which accompanies damage to the optic nerve of the eye. This can result in vision loss which can be gradual or sudden. In open-angle glaucoma, it comes on gradually. In closed-angle glaucoma, it can be gradual or sudden. Open-angle glaucoma is painless. Closed-angle glaucoma can be accompanied by pain and redness and can lead to very sudden blindness. High blood pressure is a risk factor for glaucoma. Traditional treatments for glaucoma include medication and surgery. Conventional medications can have unwanted side effects like the growth of eyelashes and other complications. Often the medications are applied topically. This can lead to poor compliance as the eye is very sensitive and putting anything into the eye can be an irritating task for many sufferers. This is where marijuana has an advantage. It does not have to be applied to the eye, nor does it work applied to the eye. It works when smoked or eaten. It is likely to work with new marijuana patches and oral or nasal sprays. Smoking a stimulating strain of weed like Jet Fuel needs to be taken seriously. Many cannabinoids have been demonstrated to reduce intraocular pressure. However, marijuana can also increase blood pressure in the short-term. It has also been associated with an increase in circulatory system events caused by high blood pressure such as kidney failure. Therefore, a patient with high blood pressure would be better off choosing non-stimulating cannabinoids including CBD to augment their glaucoma treatment rather than smoking a stimulating strain (Novack, 2016). Other patients, without high blood pressure, may benefit from the Jet Fuel strain, particularly if they have another indication for the use of marijuana such as pain and co-morbid conditions like depression.
We should also mention that marijuana can be effective when used medically for co-morbid symptoms which may appear in those with glaucoma, such as nausea, vomiting, chronic pain, loss of appetite, out of control weight loss, and insomnia. Jet Fuel is a stimulating strain but becomes very relaxing on the comedown and can induce sleep. Marijuana may not be the first-line treatment for glaucoma but can be very useful if used to augment conventional therapy, especially in the presence of a second condition which response well to treatment from medical marijuana.

I’m so glad I bought this strain even though my friends recommended me like nearly 10 other strains because I’m almost a complete newbie and know nothing about weed. I tried it only once before. I use marijuana for medical purposes and to be more precise, to deal with fibromyalgia. Now I think jet fuel could heal me only with its amazing and unbelievably strong smell! It fills the room up within several seconds and if you walk somewhere carrying it you leave a trail of extremely strong scent behind you so it might draw unneeded attention to you. It also doesn’t wear off so quickly so it’s better to smoke it outside if you didn’t like the smell from the very beginning. The sample I got was perfectly balanced 50/50 hybrid with 26% thc level. I used it early in the morning and it gradually made me feel much better, put a wide smile on my face (and I became that stranger that smiles at people on the street). Most importantly, the pain relief worked even better than I expected. It also took away nausea that was bothering me recently. The head high was soft and relaxing, good to spend a day with movies and music as well as with friends.
I hope I didn’t misunderstand anything in the dispensary when I was buying it, because I was told there it’s called G6 but apparently it is the same strain as Jet Fuel. How come that sometimes strains have several names?.. Anyway, this fuel is very cooling and minty, after a first puff I developed a taste for it and was pleasantly surprised by the strong blueberry flavor. Yummy! The effects are very comfortable and the high came up on my head very smoothly, arranged all my thoughts, opened the doors of my mind where creativity lies and allowed me to focus on something. I’m planning to use it the next time I have work to do at home because it must be much more fun, productive and fast. But my original intention was to reduce pain caused by inflammation, spasticity and muscle spasms. I didn’t actually expect it to work faster than my pills do, but here we are. Everything left for me now is try to figure out for how long one dose lasts. Like 1 hit is 2 hours, 2 hits last 4 hours and so on indefinitely? I will write it down into my diary where I recently started noting how each strain affects me and for how long I’m high on it. And this gets 5/5 for me.
